The year is 2009. What an exciting and memorable time in history to celebrate the nation’s first African American president; as well as the “Remarkable Journey - Celebrating the 25 Year Presidency of Dr. Earl S. Richardson.” On Friday, May 15th alumni from the graduating classes ending in “4” and “9” returned to the beautiful campus, and were overwhelmed by the new buildings, the sounds of cool jazz from our MSU Jazz (Band) Combo, the sweet smells of fresh fruit; and a mouth-watering chocolate fountain. It was profound and “historical” to see eight generations of graduates gathered together in one ballroom! Alumni attendees included a member from the graduating class as far back as 1939 (Mrs. Ruth Hall Smith, ‘39 of Lutherville, Md.); and traveling through history to 2004! Although everyone was joyfully filled with the delicious “southern-style” lunch, listening to the award recipients’ acceptance speeches about their love and fond memories of our beloved alma mater made this year’s luncheon an event that will forever be remembered as one of the cherished and treasured moments in Morgan’s history. Morgan Forever, Forever Morgan!
