Morgan State University Offers Free Conference on
Keeping Your Home Safe from Environmental Hazards

Morgan State University’s Institute for Urban Research (IUR) and School of Community Health and Policy are offering a free community conference, ‘What You Don’t Know Could Kill You!’ - Making Your Home Safe in Baltimore City. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the New Student Center, Room 316, on the campus of Morgan State University.

Conference organizers hope to educate Baltimore City residents about common environmental hazards found in the home. Topics to be addressed include: fire prevention, carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, mold, and pest control.

The conference will also include informational sessions led by officials from the Baltimore City Fire Department, Baltimore City Health Department, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Maryland Pesticide Network, the Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning, and the Morgan State University School of Community Health and Policy.
