Former New Jersey Attorney General Tapped to Head Morgan State University Foundation Board

Peter Harvey Joins Local Executives on Foundation’s Board of Directors

Cheryl Y. Hitchcock, Executive Director of the Morgan State University Foundation (MSUF), today announced the appointment of Morgan Alumnus Peter C. Harvey as the new chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Harvey, former Attorney General of the State of New Jersey, joins three highly-regarded individuals in local and national business circles; Carl L. Hairston, Debra Curtis-Petties and Jonathan A. Melnick.

“We are very excited about the addition of these individuals to our board,” says Hitchcock, who also serves as vice president of Institutional Advancement for Morgan State University. “Given their experience and expertise, they will be great assets to the foundation and its mission.”

Along with his duties as chairman, Harvey also is a partner with Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, LLP in New York. Hairston is the vice president and unit manager of M&T Bank’s Greater Baltimore Business & Professional Banking Group, Curtis-Petties is senior vice president and regional administrative officer of the Chesapeake Bay region of Smith Barney, and Melnick is the CEO of Melnick/ Newell Auctioneers. Each will serve a term of 3 year on the MSUF board.
