Wal-Mart's Frieson Joins Morgan State University Foundation Board of Directors

The Morgan State University Foundation has appointed Don Frieson as a member of the foundation’s Board of Directors. Frieson is vice president and regional general manager at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., the nation’s largest private employer. He oversees 104 Wal-Mart stores in 12 markets with more than 32,000 associates.

“We look forward to the addition of Mr. Frieson to our board.” says Cheryl Hitchcock, vice president of Institutional Advancement and executive director of the board. “His experience and expertise will be a great asset to the foundation’s mission.”

After joining the Wal-Mart Family in 1999, Frieson became a district manager and quickly moved up the ranks to become director of Private Fleet Administration and eventually vice president of Private Fleet Operations.

He received a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management from the University of Tennessee and resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two daughters. Frieson’s appointment became effective as of January, 2007. He will serve a three-year term of service to the Foundation.
