Black Nativity 2005, Baltimore's Premiere Holiday Entertainment with Special Guest Reverend Reginald Thomas, Sr.

Baltimore, MD --- In its third annual production, Theatre Morgan can now say that Langston Hughes’ Black Nativity, directed by David Mitchell, is a premiere Baltimore family holiday celebration. Black Nativity opens on the stage of Turpin –Lamb Theatre, located in Murphy Fine Arts Center; Thursday, December 1 st and runs through Sunday December 10 th. . Performances are Thursday 11am, Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 7:30pm with a 2PM matinee on Saturday, December 10 th and Sunday 3pm. Mitchell promises that this new look at Langston Hughes’ gospel-song play will be a spiritual evening of theatre, song, and dance.

The production of Black Nativity proves to sustain the test of time because it never has been, and never will be, the same each year. This year, Theatre Morgan brings local pastor and Heaven 600 radio personality, Reverend Reginald Thomas, Sr., of Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church as a guest performer. Since 1994, Reverend Reginald Thomas has served as the Pastor of the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. With over thirty active in-house ministries, Pastor Thomas has impacted the lives of his congregants as well as the surrounding community.

In addition to his pastoral ministry, Reverend Thomas serves as the Baltimore City District Overseer for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. Pastor Thomas’ commitment and love extends not only to the people of God, but to the community as well. He is the founder of Urban Life Solution Inc, a community development corporation that is designed to effectively minister to individuals, families, and the urban communities at large by teaching and empowering them to overcome societal and economic strongholds.

Theatre Morgan provides the Baltimore and its surrounding area with four major productions within the academic year (two per semester). In addition, productions are performed on and off campus directly related to youths.
