Morgan Assists Students Displaced by Hurricane Katrina
Morgan State University continues its efforts to assist students of colleges and universities displaced by Hurricane Katrina by opening its doors to students in affected areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Twenty-five displaced students from the Gulf Coast region have successfully transferred to Morgan and are continuing their education without disruption.
The Morgan State University Foundation’s Katrina Student Assistance Fund has been established to receive donations for the purchase of educational materials, and basic necessities for each enrolled student. At this time, Morgan State University is not in a position to receive, manage, or store donations of clothing and other materials, since each student has unique individual needs that are still being assessed.
Those interested in helping these displaced students are encouraged to consider making monetary donations designated for the Katrina Foundation Assistance Fund, within the Morgan State University Foundation. For more information, please contact Clinton R. Coleman at 443.885.3022.
