Morgan to Assist Students Displaced by Hurricane Katrina

Morgan State University welcomes the opportunity to assist students of colleges and universities who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Morgan has opened its doors to allow those students in the affected areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama to apply for transfer to its campus and continue their education this semester without disruption.

Fourteen displaced students have already applied to Morgan State, and have been enrolled. More are expected to enroll this week.

In addition, the Morgan State University Foundation has established the “Katrina Student Assistance Fund” to receive monetary donations to further assist students adversely affected by the hurricane. Checks, made payable to The Morgan State University Foundation, can be mailed to the Foundation at 1700 E. Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore 21251. People may contact the MSU Foundation at 443.885.3535.

For more information on Hurricane Katrina relief efforts by the Morgan State University family, contact Clinton R. Coleman at 443.885.3256 or email at coleman2@morgan.edu.
