Congressman Cummings to Host Social Security Town Hall Meeting at Morgan State University
Washington, D.C.- On Monday, April 11, 2005, U.S. Congressman Elijah E. Cummings will host a Town Hall Meeting at Morgan State University to discuss the future of Social Security, and what effect President George W. Bush's proposed changes may have on the solvency of the system. At the Town Hall meeting, Congressman Cummings will focus on how Social Security benefits young people and how proposed changes would affect future beneficiaries.
Congressman Cummings will be joined by an expert from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare and an expert from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation who will discuss how Social Security affects the African American community.
