Morgan and BCCC Form Honors PartnershipAgreement Makes it Easier for BCCC Scholars to Transfer to Morgan Program Morgan State University and Baltimore City Community College today formally signed an agreement that will facilitate the transfer of honors students from BCCC to Morgan State. “This agreement is really a result of the recognition on the part of both institutions that there is a need to remove certain barriers that inhibit the smooth and seamless transfer from one program to another,” said Morgan President Earl S. Richardson. “It is going to be a tremendous benefit for these students,” he added. The historic Honors Articulation Agreement signed today establishes specific arrangements for Woods Scholars entering Baltimore City Community College that allows them to plan a complete course of study that ensures a seamless transition into Morgan State University upon completion of their associate degree with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Morgan has committed to accepting all courses taken by these honors students that are deemed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and BCCC as general education core courses. Students will be awarded full junior status at Morgan once they have completed a minimum of 56 credit hours at BCCC. In addition, students who graduate from Baltimore City Community College with an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Arts in Teaching degree, and who have achieved a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average will be awarded full Honor Transfer Scholarships at Morgan State. BCCC honors graduates who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, but below 3.5, will be awarded partial scholarships. The Honors Articulation Agreement was signed today by the President of Morgan State University, Earl S. Richardson, and the President of Baltimore City Community College, Sylvester E. McKay, among others. It becomes effective immediately.
