Noted Expert on Racism and Effects on Black Male Children to Speak at Morgan Lecture Series".... fighting to create a healthy passage for black males from boyhood to manhood."
Morgan State University's Institute for Urban Research (IUR) and the IUR's The Warrior Institute welcomes Dr. Frances Cress Welsing as the keynote speaker for the "Sengbeh Pieh Lecture Series", Friday, April 16, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Morgan State University's Schaefer Engineering Building, located north of the main campus on Perring Parkway. The "Sengbeh Pieh ( pronounced Shingbay Pee-ah ) Lecture Series" is dedicated to one of the most famous graduates of the Poro Society, whose insurrection on the slave ship Amistad sparked the first and most successful "civil rights" case in the United States. The "Amistad Incident" symbolizes the spirit, the resilience and the resistance of African men and women. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, one of the world's foremost experts on racism and its effect on our Afrikan male children," shares like views with Dr. Ray Winbush, Founder of THE WARRIOR INSTITUTE and author of The Warrior Method: A Program for Rearing Healthy Black Boys .
