IN HONOR
OF WOMEN
This is Women's History Month and Morgan State University is celebrating
the achievements of women with Womanism and the Oral Traditions: A South
African Perspective with Dr. Nokwenza Plaatjie, a recognized South African
scholar in cinematic and literary representations of black women, storytelling
and gender relationships, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. in Soper Library; and,
the Outstanding Morgan Women's Banquet, March 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the
Alice Parham Ballroom. This program is intended to honor women who contribute
to the well being of the MSU student body and community.
PARKING
WOES ABOUT TO GET WORSE
Be aware! The City of Baltimore will begin posting new signs on Cold
Spring Lane directly impacting faculty, staff and students who regularly
park along this corridor. The City will begin towing cars improperly
parked during rush hour on each side of the street, as marked, and impose
hefty fines for cars that are towed. New signs go up the week of March
11, enforcement begins the week of March 18. You may remember a similar
action along Hillen Road in October of last year. Don't get caught!
MORGAN
WEBSITE AMONG THE BEST
Morgan State University's website is finally getting the recognition
it deserves, voted one of the best among black colleges nationally.
In the survey by Howard University's Digital Learning Lab, Morgan's
website ranked 4th among 103 HBCUs, bested only by Tennessee State University,
Spelman College and Howard University (yes, the one that conducted the
survey). MSU received high scores for its speedy connection, ease of
navigation and access to critical information by current and prospective
students and faculty. "Expect us to get even better," says
Webmaster Alex Adao. "We are constantly looking for ways to improve."
